Michael I or ‘Old Mick’ as he was better known was a man before his time. In the early 20th century, he found himself too far away from the main connection line to power his milking parlour, but the complexity of this issue did not deter him. He was later awarded for his design of a wind powered milking parlour. Old Mick pioneered renewable energy before the concept had been widely explored. Today, we carry on his legacy at Tullamaine by pushing the boundaries of a bold and flavour intensive Gin while giving back to the environment that helped us to create it.

From selling TV’s to motor trading, car repairs and selling farm machinery all the way through to opening a tannery and selling sheep skins, Micheal didn't shy away from a hard day's work. A shrewd businessman, Michael had a talent for buying and selling at the right price, always out for creating a great deal for all involved. This work ethic is something that has shaped our culture here at Tullamaine.

An entertainer at heart, Michael Dj’d through the decades from the 70’s right up to the mid 00’s. Always venturing the less explored route, Michael wore many hats from publican in Ireland in the 80’s to race car promoter in the 90’s, running a karting track and then returning to publican in the Algarve. Making bold, brave moves like Michael and taking the road less travelled is something we thrive on here at Tullamaine.

The youngest of the generation, Michael grew up surrounded by passion and a fascination for the many crafts and trades of his family. Proud of his family's strong work ethic, the drive of his predecessors stays with him. He tried his hand at Djing but found his strength in supply chain management over the past 15 years. Eager to bring the lessons of his family into Tullamaine, Michael is determined to create a venture that is steeped in family character.
